1965 : A Private school was established named STM Dharma Karya Sukabumi.
1966 : Status alteration from private school STM Dharma Karya to STM Negeri Sukabumi located in Jl. Pasundan No. 1 Sukabumi. It had 3 programs: Electrical Installation, Machinery, and Construction and was affiliated to STM Negeri 1 Bandung.
1984 :Relocation and advancement of the school by Directorate of Secondary and Vocational Education through Development of Technical Education Development III with the aid from Asian Development Bank moved the school to a new venue in Jl Kabandungan no 90 Selabatu, Cikole, Sukabumi. The location was 4.8 h.a. with comprehensive facilitation. It opened 5 programs, namely: Construction, Electronics, Electrical Installation, Machinery and Automotive.
1993 : STM Negeri Sukabumi changed into SMK Negeri 1 Sukabumi. It opened seven programs. They were Construction, Drafting, Surveying, Electronics, Electrical Installation, Machinery and Automotive.
2003 : Stated as National Standard School and opened new program Television Production and became school grand with more students enrolled.
Objectives :
• Conducting high quality vocational education based on national and international competence standard.
• Carrying out middle vocational education by nurturing skill, knowledge and faith to God Almighty
• Performing technological skill training founded on industrial and social need.
Targets:
• Conforming the need of People in Sukabumi to obtain secondary vocational education of technology.
• Fulfilling the need of People in Sukabumi to gain technological training in accordance to industrial need.
• complying the need of skillful work force of technology in Indonesia and in foreign countries..
